🚫 Not Measures of Meditation People often think these
prove “good meditation,” but they don’t (by themselves )
1. Clock Time – “I sat
for 30 minutes straight.” ⏳
2. Physical Refreshment – “I felt less tired
afterwards.” 😌
3. Posture Perfection - “I sat cross-legged without moving.” 🧘♂️
4. Thought Suppression – “I had no thoughts for ten minutes.”
🤯
5. Visual
Fireworks – “I saw lights and colors.” 🌈
6. Strange Sounds – “I heard ringing
or humming.” 🔔
7. Impressive Stillness – “I didn’t twitch the whole time.” 🪷
Why? Because meditation isn’t about duration, posture, or sensory drama. The
real measures (𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧) are the depth of Absorption, the quality
of Joy, and the presence of Peace — 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐈 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝
𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬.📿
